[QA-01]Material composition survey

We submit RoHS 6 material composition information on U.R.D. form. For other substances, please ask.

[QA-02]Parameter sheet

These sheets can be subumitted on U.R.D. form. Please tell us the model, quantity, destination, etc. using the inquiry form.

[QA-03]What is the "K"and the "L"on the CT?

They indicate the CT polarity. When output (secondary current) is wired as k→l for the primary current K→L, the polarity between primary and secondary currents matches.
Polarity does not need to be considered if only measuring the current value with the CT alone.

[QA-04]How many meters can the cable be extended? (AC)

There are variable parameters for customer's conditions, so giving a definitive answer is difficult, but if the wiring is long, you will need to take into account the noise generated by long wiring.
Please ensure that you always use twisted cable, and use low-resistance cable with less voltage drop than the CT secondary current.
Three-meter cables are available for separate sale for the CTL-10-CLS, 16-CLS, and FC series.
For further details, please ask.

[QA-05]How many meters can the cable be extended? (DC)

DC current sensors give a voltage signal reading.
Voltage signals are more susceptible to noise than current signals, so please use as short a cable as possible.
One-meter cables are available for separate sale for the HCS series.
For further details, please ask.

[QA-06]Why must the secondary not be open when there is current in the primary?

With an open secondary and current flowing in the primary, transient secondary currents will cause high potential voltages across the open terminals, bringing the risk of insulator breakdown and coil burnout.

[QA-07]What is the protection element?

It suppresses excessive voltage produced at an open secondary.
It maintains a safe voltage in case the secondary is mistakenly left open.

[QA-08]Are there any recommended power supplies for DC current sensors, etc.?

We don't have any recommended manufacturers or products.
Please use commercially available power supply manufacturer's products.
If it says the power supply is ±15V, you will need one with multiple outputs of +15V and -15V.

[QA-09]Is there any way of increasing a sensor's sensitivity?

If you turn the cable being measured through the aperture of the CT n times, the sensitivity increases n times.
